Living in Trump’s World

A world where opportunity is more important than integrity and dignity
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where the buck stops in his pocket while blame is targeted on others
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where everything has a price and even peace is part of some transactional deal
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where he has to be the news, anywhere and everywhere
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where free speech is allowed … only if you’re flattering him
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where if you bow and kiss the ring, he won’t bite you in the ass
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where aid programmes are stopped and the poorest workers are expelled
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where confusion and unpredictability drive all negotiations
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where long-term allies have become the enemies and an axis of evil is welcomed
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where he alone is the federal government (L’État, c’est moi)
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where previously accomplished professionals have become his sycophants
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where the government is run like a corporation and trade and peace are measured on a balance sheet
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where expertise and intellectuals are despised and “traditional values” dominate over facts
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where RFK Jr is responsible for vaccines and Hegseth is running the military
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where manufactured farming fears promote a food system exclusively for the elite
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where women fear standing up to defend their rights to their bodies
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where the dream for a better life is conditional on your race and birth
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where public discourse is a shouting match and the media is compelled into compliance
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where every other country is out to get America, and he’s the only one who can stop it
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where America dominates the agenda and ignorance of other countries is the norm
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

A world where if America is attacked again, no country would likely come to its defence
This is what it’s like living in Trump’s world

From Manila to Brussels, the rest of the world can’t seem to have a moment free from that little sociopath
I really don’t like living in Trump’s world

I am a Canadian wishing that we had a little bit of the Trump Spirit in my own country.

But I am pretty sure a Prime Minister Polieivre isn’t going to be in everybody’s face 24/7

I actually left off part of my original comment – the fix is attached

Your positions have shaken the pedestal I had you on, so I am a bit disappointed in what feels like a good degree of TDS. I also think I could find a degree of hypocrisy if I compare some of your previous writings to these positions. I try to assess a persons’ policies and positions rather than their personalities and I do have the feeling that finally, someone is standing up to say enough is enough and calling a spade a spade.

I have always valued opinion and will continue to appreciate it.

Thank you for your comment. I encourage criticism and am often my worst critic.
I quietly welcomed the shift away from the dangerous left-wing social agenda, moreso in Europe (although I am also a Canadian living in both Manila and Brussels). I held my nose with RFK Jr, but the recent attack in Trump’s speech at the DOJ was the breaking point. This man is too dangerous and democracy may not survive unless people stand up. Most people are too afraid to stand up.

I have rarely read a post that makes so many points that I disagree with! Maybe it is because I am a Canadian who spends winters in the U.S. and am actually experiencing what life is like in these two countries vs just reading opinions about it.
