Do’s and Don’ts for Scientists Communicating on Risks

From 2002-2006 I served as a member of a project team looking at creating a better relationship between scientists and journalists reporting on risks (funded under the EC Leonardo scheme). I was one of the three people who conceptualised this need and proposed the project.

At one  point we decided that we needed a simple list of Do’s and Don’ts for scientists needing to communicate on risks. Frankly it took me about 15 minutes to write these basic points down. A Greek agency then converted them into a type of “Children’s book” format.

Whatever else I do in life, I can now claim I am an author of a “Children’s book”!

Enjoy
